Scaling the musicological walls

Jake Cohen, graduate student at University of Washington, responds to Susan Key's recent call for musicologists to "scale the walls" in a post which (in good Deadhead fashion) has the title: "Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right - Thoughts on interdisciplinary conferences."

Musicological Wish Lists

As promised, Sarah Gerk offers thoughts on her recent survey of musicology job postings (January 2002 - September 2006). She also generously shares the data itself, which we here at Amusicology hope will inspire others to consider musicological trends as we look to the future of our discipline. Sarah is currently Co-Chair of the Society for American Music's (SAM) Student Forum and a PhD student in musicology at the University of Michigan.
